Every time we watch an episode of America’s Got Talent, it never ceases to amaze me how CREATIVE people are!
No act is the same as the others, and we totally love the thrill of never really knowing what we’re gonna get. Like a Mary Poppins bag-o-tricks, one thing after another keeps coming up to surprise us. From an autistic boy doing magic & telling his story through his card trick, to a woman doing sand art that illustrates out an entire story line….
Acts performed by the blind, the orphaned, the outcast, the self-taught…
You name it, they’ve got it (and MORE)!

For real- AGT even had a guy doing fart tricks! And ohhhh! How my son desperately wanted that dude to win!
Luckily my fellow Americans know how to appropriately cast their votes and set him free to go packing back home.
I’m so grateful the fart guy didn’t make it through… I mean, I have a son… I already have enough of the stinking fart jokes in my house.
(Get it?? “Stinking” fart jokes…?! I crack myself up!🤣)

Ok – my whole point is this:
There are ENDLESS ways to be creative!
•Gone are the days of believing that a creator is simply someone who paints like Bob Ross – even with his happy accidents.
•Gone are the times when everyone should be conformed to the same mold to do the same thing the exact same way as prescribed for everyone else, ever….
ENOUGH.
You’re not a robot so don’t treat yourself like one.
You are the one and only YOU! —
You have your own story.
You have your own creative abilities ~ however those are expressed!
You know just as well as I do that parts of your soul awaken when you create.
And, like a good friend, I’m here to call you to awaken and live!
Be kind to yourself~ live your fullest version of YOU.
– And before you start doggin’ on yourself and try to talk yourself out of it because you want to be hyper-critical of yourself or your skills or your creative worth (…and the list goes on and on… you know how it goes), just remember this:
Somewhere in the world right now, some dude is on a stage getting paid to do fart tricks because some people dig it… (some people’s kids 🙄).

BEHIND THE SCENES–
I like to mess with watercolor paint just to see the movements of the paint and water as it does whatever it decides to do. There’s something beautiful and captivating about the way the paper comes to life with bursts of color. I am by NO means a painting expert, but I AM a “playing” expert. :)
I play with this paint simply because it brings me joy and inspires me.
Above is a simple watercolor painting I made that I titled “Life Calling.”
The representation here is that we seem to start in the predetermined box (the white square). There are these lines all around the space, which represent the walls that are built up in our lives with the sole purpose to keep us in the box.
If you look closely, however, there are small connecting points where breakthrough is possible. And for those who are willing to take the fine line breaking from the “wall” to the unknown space beyond it, they will find themselves in a place of bursting color… This is life.
The beautiful but messy living color has found ways to reach into the predetermined box and it yearns for us to take it up on it’s offer to show us the way out…
